Article 12: Every child has the right to have a say in all matters affecting them, and to have their views taken seriously.
As a rights respecting school we follow the United Nations Charter which sets out the rights that should be given to every child. We strongly believe that the children at Park View Juniors have the right to have a say in matters which affect them. Our school council meet every fortnight to discuss matters which affect the pupils of our school.
The school council is overseen by Mrs Fox and is supported by our governor – Mr Mike Christmas. We would very much like to have a parent representative on our school council who could attend at least one meeting each term. Please contact Mrs Fox, via the school office if you feel that you could commit to this position.
Elections have now taken place in most classes and children have been elected to school council.
Those children are:
Amethyst – Porsha Jade – Spencer
Diamond – Matthew Opal - Nathan
Pearl - Gracie Emerald – Hassan
Ruby – Nora Sapphire – Joshua
Turquoise – Lilli Topaz - Jessica
Amber - Hollie
At the moment, the school council are working on debating skills.
